The ROBOEXOTICA is an annual event featuring the Annual Cocktail Robot Awards. 
 

It combines the wittiness of avantgarde electronic art with the futurological aspect of modern technique. Expert talks, artistic performances and the exhibit of actual, working Cocktail Robots all are part of the recipe that will bring forth the 4th version of a unique festivity, which the ROBOEXOTICA constitutes since 1999.

The ROBOEXOTICA 2002 will take place 15th-17th november at Electric Ave. / Museumsquartier Wien.

Please do feel invited to participate in the world´s first international

Your robot has to have skills in either one of the following categories:

Nominations will be gladly accepted until sept. 15th anually.
Just state what your cock-bot can do in your own words, include what documentation and visual material seems necessary and send it as an e-mail to tender@roboexotica.org

The fifth category - other achievments in the sector of cocktail culture - may also be entered with non-robot gadgets or inventions as well as mere concepts or documented ideas ...

The ACRA V4.0 will take place as part of ROBOEXOTICA 2002
15th - 17th nov. 2002 .

The awarding festivity will be held nov. 16th at Erste-Arena / Quartier21 / Museumsquartier Wien.
 
 
 

Why Cocktails?

Robots have a lot of different applications. In only a few cases they are involved in interaction with an end-user. The development of service-robots in the service of households promises to make great progress in this century -
While robots today will assemble a car in an instant without a blink of an eye, in the year 2002 there are still only a few serious tries of integrating robotics into the environment of a cocktail-bar.
Individual solutions brought forward by original gastronomers and artists dominate the scene beside student-projects.
Until 1999 there used to be no efforts to bring the developments into competition  or to make a subject of cocktailrobotic´s role as an index for the integration of technological achievements into the human Lebenswelt.
And to document the creation of new interfaces for man-machine-interaction, a priori dedicated to hedonism!
That void has been occupied for more than three years now by the ROBOEXOTICA,
around which a creative pool emerged, that is responsible for new ideas on the topic year after year.
The ROBOEXOTICA is trying to establish worldwide contacts with developers of cocktail-robotics and function as an international platform for anybody interested in the topic.
