_messtalgia
Juana Ledesma Arocena (FH Joanneum)
The installation explores the uncurated energy of house parties, capturing their spontaneity, disorder, and improvised beauty. It takes the form of a sprawling digital collage built from real party fragments—photos, objects, and blurry moments gathered from personal archives. Visitors navigate the canvas in all directions, discovering mixed layers of images, clips, and stories. Elements react to touch like small accidents: a lighter may ignite a nearby photo, or a spilled drink may leave a spreading stain. These interactions echo the unpredictable rhythms of a night that gets out of hand.

A Drink With My Monsters
María José Santacruz (FH Joanneum)
What keeps you up at night? Everyone carries a blank page: uncertainties, worries about the future, and doubts about life’s choices. But the answers aren’t always distant, sometimes they live in silence, in the present, in this very moment. What if we could name these feelings, face our monsters, and share a drink with them?

Comfort
Robyn Pan
In interesting times, the world can feel like a harsh, disheartening place. Eyes open or not, we can all occasionally do with some Comfort. This comfort comes, as it sometimes does, in the form of a Margarita: Tequila, Triple Sec and Lime juice. Bitter, Sour, Sweet - and comforting.

Cocktail Aquarium
Anna Weng (FH Joanneum)
Have you ever looked at an aquarium and thought, 'I wonder what it would taste like?' This is the answer. This wacky project merges an interface experience with a fun activity -- fishing! Audiences will first interact with the interface, once completed they will move on to 'fish' gummy fish out of a bucket, then filling your own cup with the aquarium juice--combining both into a delicious drink!

Das Morse-Gesellschaffts-Spiel
Gudrun Schuchmann
Guess your Cocktail
Florentina Hartbauer (FH Joanneum)
Guess Your Cocktail is a playful two-player game that mixes real bar vibes with augmented reality. Each coaster hides a cocktail, and only the other player can see which one it is. By scanning the coaster with the Artivive app, animated ingredients appear. These hints help Player 1 guide Player 2 toward the right guess through short clues and yes/no questions. It turns a simple coaster into an interactive moment of surprise and storytelling. The result is a light, social, and memorable experience that blends analog charm with digital magic.

Homeopathic Cocktails

60X/ 30C (10^−60)

Toastiology: a living archive of shared wishes
Isabella Paganini (FH Joanneum)
Every toast begins with a wish, a small hope shared, a moment suspended between people. This project transforms the simple act of lifting a glass into a collective ritual of connection, where each clink becomes an echo of desire expressed through sound. Participants write their wishes, place them inside the glasses, and choose a category that will shape the tone produced when they toast with someone else. The glasses act as “wish jars,” gathering personal hopes that later move to a growing wish wall and wish jars on the bar shelf. Through writing, sharing, sound, and ritual, the experience invites people to reconnect, celebrate being together, and make their wishes tangible.

FH JOANNEUM Institute of Design and Communication at Roboexotica 2025

In the course “Interaction Design” during the 5th semester of the bachelor program “Information Design” at the FH JOANNEUM in Graz, students are challenged to develop a project for Roboexotica. The outcome is 12 distinct interactive installations that explore the fusion of drinks, technology, and party culture. This year, a highly international group of students from FH JOANNEUM takes part in the Roboexotica project. Students from Austria, Germany, Pakistan, Argentina, Mexico, Great Britain, Australia, and the United States will present their screen-based and augmented-reality–enhanced installations in Vienna.
